PermaFlex-AL is a single component, high solids, UV resistant, environmentally safe, liquid applied, polyurethane protective topcoat.

PermaFlex-AL is an anti-corrosion & waterproofing coating that can be used either indoors or outdoors.  PermaFlex-AL will molecularly weld to PermaFlex, LRB (Liquid Rubber Base), and LRB/TAV mixture (Thickening Activator).

PermaFlex-AL will molecularly weld to properly prepared (PermaFlex primed) surfaces of concrete, wood, aluminum, steel, some plastics, and most standard building materials.

PermaFlex-AL will not bubble, chip, peel, crack, or delaminate from exposure to extremes of ambient heat and cold or Hydrostatic Pressure over PermaFlex primed surfaces

PermaFlex-AL is an aliphatic coating with accelerated weather testing exceeding 20 years color retention.

PermaFlex AL  Qualities

Standard Application Rate: 240 sq. ft. per gal. After application and cure, PermaFlex-AL leaves a thick layer of smooth rubber approximately four times the thickness of a household garbage bag, (1 coat - approx 7 mils thick).

PermaFlex-AL is our extreme UV resistant exterior topcoat used in above water applications. PermaFlex-AL shares many of the same qualities as PermaFlex but has a little less elongation, tougher than PermaFlex, though it is extremely colorfast and UV resistant for over 15 years, stronger than PermaFlex with 5,000 psi tensile strength. PermaFlex-AL requires at least 60° F in order to cure.

After cure, there is little resemblance to paint. If solid cured PermaFlex-AL could be removed from its applied surface, it would be in the form of extremely pliable sheets that may be pulled, stretched, twisted and when released it will reliably return to its original size/shape.

Available Container Sizes:

PermaFlex-AL Unique Qualities:

  • Permanent Elongation® - PermaFlex-AL will never become harder or brittle with age and will maintain its flexibility indefinitely.
  • Elongation Memory® - When PermaFlex-AL is drastically stretched and released it will always return to the original shape and size preventing distortion of the original shape and size.
  • PermaFlex-AL has the ability to cure tack-free in 4 hours or less at temperatures 70° F or higher.
  • Provides long term, colorfast protection of over 20 years under extreme conditions of weather, UV, and humidity.
  • Extremely durable with 5,000 psi tensile strength with 290% permanent elongation.
  • Single component liquid polyurethane with both manual and machine application capabilities which cures at temperatures above 60degrees F at a maximum mil thickness of 15 mils per coat.
  • As a deck surface coating PermaFlex-AL is perfect for extreme protection from heavy vehicle traffic in parking decks, commercial floor top coating etc.
  • SANI-TRED PermaFlex-AL maintains permanent flexibility with incredible strength and lasting durability with a Shore hardness of A 90.
  • Colorfast, maintains bright colors under extreme UV conditions on both horizontal and vertical surfaces making it perfect for high profile applications such as yacht coatings above water line to prevent rust and corrosion.
  • High solids content.
  • A shelf life of 2 years- nearly 4 times that of other urethanes.
  • Molecularly bonds/welds to itself, new-to-old, at any stage of curing or age with proper surface preparation.
  • Impervious to high humidity conditions, during or after installation. High humidity actually enhances curing of PermaFlex-AL.
  • "Fool-proof" user friendly qualities allow PermaFlex-AL to cure regardless of applicator error. All will cure in a reasonable time without costly removal, disposal, or irreversible damage to the project.
  • SANI-TRED PermaFlex-AL always fully cures to form harmless solid polyurethane. This important quality assures that no liquid residual remains in used or partially used and discarded containers, which is a major cost saving advantage, eliminates hazardous waste disposal expenses. Often other materials are unable to ever cure as separate components, this includes, and is especially true, of multi-part or plural component coating materials that are rated as 100% solids.
  • SANI-TRED PermaFlex-AL is completely water-proof, "not water resistant" like other products.

PermaFlex-AL Limitations:

  • PermaFlex-AL requires at least 60° F. in order to cure
  • Not to be used below water (beneath standing water), in “ponding” areas, in pools or where concentrated chlorine contact is present
  • Should not be applied upon damp surfaces or applied greater than 15 mils, on horizontal surfaces
  • Never blend water with liquid PermaFlex-AL (violent chemical reaction, foaming)
  • Not to be used for negative hydrostatic pressure retention (can be used as a topcoat)
  • Never thin or reduce with alcohol or any solvent which may contain alcohol (destroys product, never cures)
  • Not to be used for high temperature exposure above 250° F
