Standard Application Rate: 240 sq. ft. per gal on concrete, wood, block, brick, stone/mortar as well as other standard building materials. Approximately 300 sq. ft. per gal when applied to steel, aluminum, cast iron, fiberglass and most non-porous materials. After application and cure, PermaFlex leaves a thick layer of smooth rubber approximately four times the thickness of a household garbage bag, (2 coats - approx 14 mils thick).
SANI-TRED PermaFlex is a single component (1 part), liquid rubber "ULTRA ADHESIVE" paint-like coating. After cure, there is little resemblance to paint. PermaFlex is a paint replacement product, self-priming, easy to use, easy to apply and cures reliably even in extremely cold temperatures. A good analogy of PermaFlex is "a roll on, seamless, flexible liner that bonds permanently to the surface and beneath the surface". PermaFlex bonds permanently to most all standard building materials. PermaFlex molecularly welds to previous applications of PermaFlex, LRB and LRB/TAV mixture. PermaFlex can be brushed, rolled or even sprayed (air assist).
If solid cured PermaFlex could be removed from its applied surface, it would be in the form of extremely pliable sheets that may be pulled, stretched, twisted and when released it will reliably return to its original size/shape.
The photos below shows a high quality concrete patio block which was coated on one side with PermaFlex that has been tinted red to allow better visual detection of the Flexible Penetration® process. The block was then broken in half to show it's internal cross section. Notice the penetration of the red PermaFlex throughout the entire block!

The unique adhesive and penetrative properties of PermaFlex allow SANI-TRED to provide a complete water tight flexible vapor barrier above and within the surface as though it is one seamless application. This vapor barrier eliminates exterior humidity and problem radon by stopping water, moisture, vapor and problem radon from migrating through foundation walls and floors due to negative hydrostatic pressure and/or moisture vapor drive. Basically it is impossible for PermaFlex to bubble, chip, peel or delaminate from the substrate.
PermaFlex was originally designed and used as a heavy duty, hard wearing, exterior, commercial/industrial floor coating. This allows PermaFlex to be used where complete waterproofing and extremely heavy traffic usage is expected. Sani-Tred products are even rated for vehicle traffic! PermaFlex is so tough it may be regularly cleaned with hot water, high pressure washing.

SANI-TRED PermaFlex always fully cures to form harmless solid polyurethane. This important quality assures that no liquid residual remains in used or partially used and discarded containers, which is a major cost saving advantage, eliminates hazardous waste disposal expenses. Often other materials are unable to ever cure as separate components, this includes, and is especially true, of multi-part or plural component coating materials that are rated as 100% solids.
SANI-TRED PermaFlex is completely water-proof, "not water resistant" like other products.
PermaFlex will never delaminate in the presence of constant immersion, standing water on a raw edge, in the presence of Moisture vapor drive or even negative hydrostatic pressure.
Not to be used as the ‘final top coating’ in pools or where there is a high concentration of chlorine. Sani-Tred products are resistant to ‘chlorinated water’, just not high concentrated chlorine used when ‘shocking’. Topcoat using a good 2-part epoxy for extreme chemical resistance.
Never blend water with liquid PermaFlex (chemical reaction, foaming will take place)
Never reduce or thin PermaFlex with alcohols or any solvent which may contain alcohol (destroys product, prevents curing)
Not to be used for high temperature applications where the area will be exposed to above 250 ° F
High specific gravity, thick, viscous liquid requires great pressure to airless spray @ 70° F. Best applied when brushed, rolled or sprayed air-assist HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure).
