STABILITY: stable under all conditions
CONDITIONS TO AVOID: Opened containers over long periods may result in evaporation and eventual total desiccation of product which could produce nuisance dust. Temperatures below freezing (32 deg. F.), may result in expanded containers and possible rupture of containers with possible product spillage.
INCOMPATIBILITY (MATERIALS TO AVOID): Avoid contact with concentrated mineral acids or substances liable to decomposition by totally desiccated, (dried), product dust, e.g. peroxide.

SKIN CONTACT: Primary irritation Index <0.5 (Rabbit). May cause degreasing of skin, dryness or cracking with heavy exposure.
EYE CONTACT: No long term irritation effects. Possible irritation due to physical contact with eye tissues.
INGESTION: low acute toxicity (LD50-oral-rat>8g/kg body weight). May cause gastric irritation in large quantity.
INHALATION: Irritation to nose and mouth from desiccated, (dried), material resulting in airborne dust above approved Occupational exposure limits.
LONG TERM EXPOSURE: Long term exposure of completely desiccated product, (dust), in excess of the Occupational Exposure standard may result in fibrosis of the lung tissue.
CARCINOGENICITY: (this product contains no carcinogenic compounds or agents. Not listed by OSHA, NTP or IARC as a carcinogen. Contains no detectable acrylonitrile monomer, methacrylonitrile monomer or TDI's.)
MEDICAL CONDITIONS GENERALLY AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE: Asthma and lung diseases if exposure to dried product airborne dust.
EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES: Eye Contact: immediately flush eye with plenty of water. After initial flushing, remove any contact lenses and continue flushing for at least 15 minutes. Inhalation: remove victim to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably mouth-to-mouth. If breathing is labored, give oxygen. Consult medical personnel. Skin Contact: wash material off of the skin with soap and water. If redness, itching or a burning sensation develops, get medical attention. Ingestion: induce vomiting. Give 1 or 2 glasses of water to drink and refer person to medical personnel. (Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.)
STEPS TO BE TAKEN IN CASE MATERIAL IS RELEASED OR SPILLED: small quantity spills; wash surface with soap and water. Small quantities of TAV, under 1 gallon, may be disposed of along with wash water within normal septic systems after diluting any remaining semi-solid paste with water. Dispose of large quantities of spilled product in accordance with state or local regulations.
DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS: Waste product may be disposed of by landfill. State and local legislation concerning disposal of waste materials must be followed.
PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN IN HANDLING AND STORING: store in tightly sealed containers to protect from desiccation. Store in a cool dry area.
OTHER PRECAUTIONS: Spilled product could cause slip and fall injury.
VENTILATION: N/A
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: N/A
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING: none required. As a general hygienic practice, protective clothing is recommended. Cleaning of clothes is recommended.
OTHER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND MEASURES: unhindered access to eye wash stations. As a general hygienic practice, wash hands and face after use. showers and cleaning of clothes are recommended.
T-A-V contains no heavy metals or other hazardous agents which are known to be harmful to the environment. The material itself is ecologically inert. Pyrophosphate additive may affect aquatic life and may cause algal blooms if released into rivers in large quantities. It contains no components that are listed as toxic chemical under SARA Title III, 302-304 or 313.. T-A-V is not manufactured with Class I or Class II ozone depleting chemicals, as defined in the Clean Air Act of 1990.
